Suddenly it appears to be a not so cool cult. A coke comercial gone wrong or something. Don't try so hard for tha man ya hippies.

and... other releases like Chomsky, Ben Kweller, Divine Comedy, Pedro the Lion, Starflyer 59, and Burning Brides didn't live up to expectations at all... me heart were broken... arghhhh.

....BUT personally, the most disappointing cd for me, personally, this past year was...

I was geeked for it as a long time fan and owner of all their future farmer label stuff and other trinkets, and then came this album... ballads and major boredom. Who are these people?


Oh yea, "The Possibilities" and "Absinthe Blind" breaking up in 2004 made me sad too.

Helmet- Size Matters. Maybe I was subconsciously hoping for a return to the Betty sound, but this album was just boring for me.

I tried giving Xiu Xiu some listens and it is just not doing it for me. The minimalist thing is just too sparse for me.

What is weird is that I enjoyed the Joanna Newsom album, but that kind of music usually annoys me.
