Ok, i'm literally addicted to this today:

Elliott Smith - St. Ides Heaven

This song may be in my top 10 of all time. I love the line when he sings "hiiiiiigh on amphetamines....... and i won't come down for aaaaanyone" It's tragic and beautiful. A really haunting track.

(it's posted on my fb if you want to stream it)

***

Everything is exactly right
When I walk around here drunk every night
With an open container from 7-11
In St. Ides Heaven
I've been out haunting the neighborhood
And everybody can see I'm no good
When I'm walking out between parked cars
With my head full of stars
High on amphetamines
The moon is a light bulb breaking
It'll go around with anyone
But it won't come down for anyone
You think you know what brings me down
That I want those things you could never allow
You see me smile and you think it's a frown turned upside-down
Cos everyone is a fucking pro
And they all got answers from trouble they've known
And they all gotta say what you should and shouldn't do
Though they don't have a clue
High on amphetamines
The moon is a light bulb breaking
It'll go around with anyone
But it won't come down for anyone
And I won't come down for anyone

I've been obsessed for over a week with:

The Outcasts - Loving You Sometimes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CR9fON2mSaA

I just can't get it out of my head/mind/etc. but, for my own sanity, I'm working on it...

I've listened to Springsteen's "I'm Goin Down" about 6 times in the last 24 hours.

Great fucking tune, and extremely addicting. Also exemplary of the depressing songs on that album being disguised as pop gems.

Mine is: Alpha Male and the Canine Mystery Blood.
