I like the vocals a lot but don't come away with much "songs" really. Probably will like more with repeated listens.

The vocals kept me from being able to listen for more than about half a song. The faux blasé sing song stuff mixed in with the high pitched off key bits was pretty annoying for me. Maybe I picked the wrong song, but if the vocals are like that throughout, not gonna work for me at all.

I listened to the whole thing a few times on this trip, on the plane rides. From what I recall before dozing off, the first 3 songs are actually pretty good, and then it completely goes downhill, to where I couldn't recall any of the songs a few seconds after each one ended. Fleet Foxes was guilty of this with me as well... a few great moments and even a few good complete songs, but mostly just sleepy pieces of stuff strung together. Worth it for those 2 or 3 songs, I guess, but they're not there yet, if they ever will be.

Mind you, it's not a hit-you-over-the-head kinda jam, but I think it's a great song

for this album, it's a relative barn-burner. There are DRUMS!

All sarcasm aside, yeah that's not a bad song.

Yeah. And after you're comment nothing's changed. I still think it's a fantastic album. Sorry to ruin your day Dumpjack. Ban me.

With the space between major and indie continuing to dwindle, a top 10 indie rock showing on Billboard's Top 200 album chart isn't the kind of seismic event it once was. But still, this week's no. 8 triumph for Grizzly Bear's BNM'd third album, Veckatimest, is kinda like a big deal.

According to Billboard, the record sold 33,000 copies-- 40 percent via downloads and 24 percent via indie stores-- which was good enough to beat Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, and almost every other band/artist selling music on this earth. Kudos.

I like both Grizzly Bear and Department of Eagles. This album is good, but I don't quite get the hype about them all of a sudden. I haven't noticed that much of a change in the style of music from the band. Their song on the Dark Was The Night compilation is one of my favorites this year.

A little perspective; 13,000 of those came from Amazon's $3.99 pricing of the album. Take off Amazon's cut and you're barely covering expenses.

I've had "All We Ask" in my head pretty much 24/7 for like 3 days... to the point where I don't like it anymore, and am willing to try something desperate to pry it out of there. Fucking thing just keeps floating up to the top again.
