featuring little richard covering the Stones, CCR, Hank Williams, Hoyt Axton/Three Dog Night, and various Motown classics.
I'm on record as someone who never needs to hear any of his well-known hits ever again, but this intrigues me. Pass along your thoughts when you get to it.
I realized i never replied to this. I've only listened to it that one time and it didn't have my complete attention. That said, I thought it was pretty good. The Brown Sugar cover had a female backing chorus that I could picture some of the GARs thinking crosses the too cheesy line but I have a pretty high tolerance for stuff like that. Its a pretty short album and at the end I realized that i didn't even notice the Hank Williams cover. Like I said, it didn't have my complete attention so I'm not sure how much that is due to him making it his own or my lack of attention.
In any case, its definitely worth more listens. I don't recommend it as highly as:
though which was recorded at Muscle Shoals and might be the best thing I've discovered all year.
