Aside from major discomfort in your rear?

Col. Bruce played Montgomery around Thanksgiving. I think these dudes need Big H money...meanwhile Beavers is our recording some album with John Popper  :rawk:

Spent yesterday out on the town. Delivered blankets, toys, and clothes to a school here in the 'Stan and made a little friend who I taught how to throw a frisbee which was the most remarkable thing in the world to him. We then had tea and lunch with some of the village elders, best meal I have had in I don't know how long, though I should not have drank the yogurt in hindsight as my stomach hates me today. Regardless, awesome fucking day, can't wait to go back out, I miss being on the street immensely.

Trying to find some decent, appropriate hip-hop for my 10-year old to listen to is fucking hard!
He is really getting into it and I hate having to say "no" to so many CDs... I feel like a prude, but he is only 10.

I hear ya. I have a 10 year old who likes hip hop as well. His mom (my ex) mostly dictates what he can and can't listen to, but I put music on his iPod from time to time.

How about some Rob Base or De La Soul?

Man, that is tough. I don't know enough about the genre currently to give any good picks, but yeah J5 should be for the most part clean, and I think the Roots are pretty clean. What about some older stuff like De La Soul?

Tribe isn't too bad. Remember, at 10 they probably don't quite understand all the themes, just pick out the "bad" words.

Of course, by the time I was 12, I was listening to NWA, and look how I turned out.

I haven't listened to these in their entirety in forever, so I may be missing big non-10 year old lyrics. Obviously there are some non-kid themes, but so does Conway Twitty. De La Soul seems like a cool idea, too. Head back a little ways and you could find some cool shit, especially for a kid.

Kool Moe Dee :: How You Like Me Now
DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince :: He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper It's goofy, but so are 10 year olds.
EPMD :: Strictly Business Lots of fun samples
Beastie Boys :: License to Ill This was HUGE when I was in 4th grade.
Young MC :: Stone Cold Rhymin' YES!
