aside from the downhill events, most of the skiers/boarders are folks 5'8" or shorter. it's a short man's game.

That one Swede was 6'6" (and only 172 lbs) but yeah, for the most part it was all shorties.

And that finals run where one kept beating the other and then the Canadian with the brother with Cerebral Palsy won was fucking awesome.

I was trying to find a picture of the Ukraine figure skating couple. The dude was huge for a figure skater. He must have been 6'-8". He was throwing his tiny partner around like a toy. He looked so huge and akward, especially when he lost his balance and fell.

Canada really tanked the men's downhill. Way to fall there, Robbie.

Dude that won silver is a fuckstain who abandoned Canada to get rich building a spam company in Australia. So glad he lost, especially to a classy guy like Alexandre.

Yeah, perception is everything (especially when it's being sold to you on TV) but Internet Mogul Dude seemed like a douche who I was actually hoping would injure himself.

Also, Half-pipe tonight!

The weather has apparently been sucking for a lot of events this week. There was a story this morning about how a HUGE section of ground near the half pipe will be unavailable to the crowd due to melting. The area was to hold 20,000 people for standing room only. The grandstands will be filled still but that area will closed off.

I'm excited to see Shaun White's new tricks. Did you see the segment last night that showed him taking a helicopter out to his private half-pipe where he practices tricks all day so nobody can see what he's got planned? INCREDIBLE!

Also the bit where he told the story of his mom took his gold medal to the dry cleaners was pretty funny.

did they explain how he gets back once he's done? or does he just snowboard down the mountain?
