there's a lot of stuff shiv likes that i don't enjoy, yet every mix he's ever made has been FLAWLESS

I saw Miniature Tigers open for Ben Folds and my friend sent me the album, which I listened to a couple of times. I'm by no means a big fan, but they aren't awful. How did they get pulled into this conversation again?

Shiv does make solid, solid mixes.

Dale would hype the sound of a turd dropping in a toilet bowl if he thought it was "in" but he also listens to a lot of relatively standard punk, metal, indie rock, and pop. I'm not sure what his taste really even is.

It was an offhand comment not really worth spending this much time on but I meant music that actually had a big commercial market. I'm guessing that I listen to a higher % of major label releases than anyone else here. Even the "lost classics" that i seek out were mostly shooting for mainstream commercial acceptance.

Mainstream or underground tastes! who cares? both 'categories' have their share of great music and both 'categories' have their share of shit....music is music regardless of how big the audience is.

as for topic at hand, both are my boys, but I have probably gotten into a lot more bands and artists from Shiv over the years than Dale.
