She called last night and we decided to try resuming things, but at a slower and more casual pace. For the time being, we're going to see each other once a week and see how that goes. It may work, it may not, but I think it's at least worth a try. A reassessment led to the realization that I may have unwittingly pushed things a little too fast the first time around, so the only way to find out if we have a future will be to ease off the gas and allow things to develop at a more natural pace.

If, down the road, she still ends up deciding to end things, I won't be blindsided by it. I realize it's a tenuous situation, and there is still a significant possibility things won't work out. But I'd rather give it another try to make sure, than just give up.

Bob, having gone through this a couple times now, my only advice is to have fun. Take your time and just have fun. If it turns into something serious down the road, great, but if not at least you had a good time while you were straightening things out (finances, your head, etc.).
