Gronk is an effing freak. Perfect match for Brady.

Also, lining up Hernandez at RB=awesome.

[Hi-jack]

I've followed the Patriots way more closely this year for Fantasy reasons. But it seems there's an unpredictable featured offensive weapon every week. And somehow they always pull it off whether it's Welker, Hernandez or Gronkowski. I'm always against the asshole who has those guys when they score 3 TDs.

I fucked up drafting Green-Ellis and Branch; but I did get Brady.

[/Hi-jack]

Despite the NE secondary being horseshit all season at the same level of ineffectiveness as the Packers', they look like superstars against Tebow which shouldn't be surprising. But it's encouraging given their performance this year.

truth.

So funny. I actually texted Bloor both: "Niners better not go the Bobo route and lose this by being pussies" when the Saints took the lead, and "I forgot Harbaugh makes Saban look like a pussy" when they downed it on 3rd and 3 and then tossed the TD. That is the best playoff game I can remember watching in a few years. Instant. Classic.

Hey jerkass - drinking a Toronto Cocktail I had a modified version in Louisville, but this is good. Fernet!

Re: Fernet.
Everyone kinda cringes initially since I usually serve it the Argentinian coke and fernet combo with a thick frothy head and a Jaegerish flavor profile. But after the first few sips people usually get 2 or 3 more glasses full.

Some have claimed they don't get a hangover off of Fernet. I can attest otherwise.

I have all those ingredients in that link. Here's to a Toronto Cocktail taste test.

Results: It's good. It's a more dilute mixture of Fernet than I usually consume that highlights the floral and herbal nature of this digestif. I'm also noticing it has a subtle decongestant property or else it's the floral esters getting up in my sinuses. Good find.

My modification since I prefer a highball: 1.5 oz Woodford reserve (not rye), 0.5 oz Fernet, splash of rail vodka, splash of triple sec, dash of bitters topped off with sprite. Me likey.

I made mine with Makers. I think Rye would be preferable. I agree on the decongestant - to me it's that almost mint taste note I get from the Fernet. It's very refreshing.

What is Argentinian Coke? Is it like that Mexican coke with the real sugar? I'll try that one soon if so.

Popular in Argentina, it is often taken as a national beverage. The production in this country is around 25 million litres, 35% sold in Buenos Aires province and Federal District and 30% in Córdoba province (with a population of 3 million people).[3][4] It is commonly mixed with cola (usually 1 part fernet, 3 parts cola), but it is also drunk with soda water (in an "old fashioned way"), or even pure. This popular variety of fernet is not the same as the fernet sold by the Czech distillery R. Jelínek which features a more cinnamon flavor.

The drink has been popular in the San Francisco Bay Area since before Prohibition;[2] and as of 2008, San Francisco accounted for 25% of US consumption.[5] San Francisco bars usually serve fernet as a shot followed by a ginger ale chaser.[2]

So not Argentinian coke; but Coke mixed with Fernet is typically how Fernet is consumed in Argentina. I guess I'm obligated to try this with ginger/ginger ale given that last paragraph. One of my guests last weekend was mixing Fernet with red bull repeatedly; but she likes anything mixed with RB and it tasted sour to me.

10-4. I read your post wrong (possibly while under the influence of SEVERAL of those Toronto Cocktails). I'll definitely try this.

I got a bottle of Amaro as well when I got the Fernet. Same principle, just 100% Italian, instead of modified for the South American tastes. I'm really enjoying it. I'll report back after I try it with Coca-Cola. The soda water option sounds pretty good, too.

Turnovers...uncharacteristic. Not a good football week in the SB household.

Yeah, he's definitely my #1 keeper in our fail-tasy league. And, I hope he brings like 3 porn stars as his "dates" if they make the SB.

Aside from being a grade A bad ass on the field, I love that he's pretty openly whooping it up and doing what you should do if you're a famous athlete. (No comment on the inherent racism extant in the average fans' reaction to him vis-a-vis a star black player)

Listening to Gronkowski on the post-game interview made me wonder how many chromosomes he's working with.

Bibi Jones hooking up with Percy Harvin on a bye week would have gotten PH12 a season-long suspension.* **

*Four times as long as Roethlisberger's suspension for, y' know, twice being accused of rape.***

**Twice as long as Pac-Man's suspension for involvement in a strip club melee in which a bouncer got shot & ended up in a wheelchair.

***Roethlisberger, it should be noted, is the only white player who could not party with Bibi Jones. But I think that's more an issue with the law, & sex offender notification, & not any evidence of the Ginger Hammer's toughline.

Also, to speak of Bibi Jones, I would be remiss not to mention you ATL boys have a connection to her, by way of one of your rooting interests: Bibi "dated" Dan Uggla when he was a Marlin.

He's obviously taken a good number of head shots. That was painful to listen to that interview.

Gary Kubiak should be kicked in the nuts - 2:00 left with two timeouts in Baltimore territory needing a TD to tie and instead of running Foster, he's got Yates throwing deep. And of course, it gets picked off. TERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIBLE playcalling there.

Yates forcing the ball downfield cost the game against a subpar Baltimore team. And now Reed tore something. Good luck to the consistently underperforming Ravens. I can't see NE losing to this clunky incomplete team.

Agreed, though stranger things have happened in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE PLAYOFFS.

I heard this might be the first time since they expanded the playoffs to 12 teams that every home team has won.

Well that's the key to this game. Put pressure on Manny-boy and his brain scrambles.

All things considered I am still very happy with the Texans season. Take away TJ Yates and a horrible play by Jacoby Jones and we win that game. O-line gives up no sacks to the Ravens and Brooks Reed and JJ Watt were fucking stellar. Those two are going to be stars in this league for a long time to come. Not to mention Arian proved again to be one of the best backs out there.

Will definitely look forward to next season where hopefully we can stay healthy.

Apparently it helps if your QB has The Herp* to beat Green Bay at home in the playoffs.

*Mike Vick, (rellegedly) Eli Manning
