Or they could go the route the Minnesota Timberwolves didn't -- hiring a superfan -- & hire you to coach, Senator.

I'd bet that Mrs. Kelly could be enticed by 2 or 3 million things to move elsewhere.

I'd guess that Kelly is making $800,000-1,300,000/yr at Cincy? Some big-time programs are going to be looking for a new coach soon and would easily double (possibly triple) that salary.

Hell, Sarkisian got a $1.8 mil/yr deal at UW. Tedford at Cal makes $2.8 mil. What would Notre Dame offer for Kelly?

Wiki has his salary at $1,475,000.

Going for two after the 7th touchdown was pretty classless. I like to see USC get blown out as much as any one, but Harbaugh has to remember that you need to act like you've been there before and know things always come full circle.
I've never been a fan of Stanford or their band, but it sounds like their Girls Gone Wild Halftime show taunting USC alum Joe Francis was pretty funny.

Carroll has gone for two while being far ahead. Carroll is an arrogant media-slut who has consistently been rude to opposing coaches after wins. Harbaugh's going for two was with historical context and was common-sense justice for a Girls Gone Wild USC football factory. No retreat, baby, no surrender.

I haven't watched USC Football enough to notice the late two point attempts. I've only seen them keep the star QB in the game late into the 3rd so they get their stats and score 50pts. I know that when they were destroying Nebraska in Lincoln two years ago, that he took his foot off Callahan's throat and allowed the Huskers to score a ton of garbage points. I also don't remember him really sticking it to Oklahoma during the one title game or Notre Dame that year the Irish were lucky to get a first down.
I find him to be as arrogant as Urban Meyer, Charlie Weis and Nick Saban. Plus, as a UCLA fan, you should realize that Neuheisel would be just as arrogant and a bigger media whore if the Bruins had been that good for that long.

if oregon can win at Arizona (not easy) and Beavs can win at Wazzu (a given?), sets up the civil war for the rose bowl.

No, by any objective standard PC is an exceptional prick. And the disdain for his prickedness, and the joy in his comeuppance is greater because of his media whore efforts to be an "up close and personal" TV spot hero.. the Great White Friend of South Central among other lies...

I know, huh? Goes against type. Also, I'd argue that the magnitude of vengence argues against "petty"....

It just kills me to see the Big Ten runner-up being matched against Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. I'm not saying that the loser of Pitt/Cincinnati would make a more attractive match-up, I just don't want the Big Ten to make a bunch of cash while being completely embarrassed in big games.
Plus, it will be much like unbeaten Utah playing a mediocre Pittsburgh team a few years back in Tempe or BYU playing a crappy Michigan team for a title in 1985.

Reminds me of Woody Hayes' quote when asked why he went for 2 after being up 42-14 on Michigan........"Because I couldn't go for three". Or something like that.

I'm probably being a hypocrite by saying this but I absolutely love that they went for 2 up that big. Classless? Probably. Memorable, definitely. Stanford doesn't have that great of a tradition of other football programs and guess who LOTS of California high school recruits are talking about today? Stanford. Also, USC has had their way with the Pac-10 for a decade and have embarassed team upon team with 42-0 and 55-7 scores. It's high time they eat a little shit. I'd also venture to say that other Pac-10 teams are quietly LOVING this today.

Granted, I think Urban Meyer should burn in hell for calling the remainder of Florida's time outs while up 39 and only seconds to go in the UGA game last year. But, there is nothing in the rules that you have to be nice in college football.

There are a crap ton of coaching rumors today, most of them dealing with the Big 12 in some way.

Mike Leach of Texas Tech is allegedly being wooed by Louisville, and he has some interest in the job.
Bob Stoops of Oklahoma allegedly stated he would have an interest in the Notre Dame job if they came calling and Colorado is supposedly recruiting the Shanahans to pull a Kiffin job for the Buffaloes.

Also UNLV fired their coach and Dick Tomey is retiring from San Jose State at the end of the year.

He might be, but he won a title in his 2nd year at OU. Urban Meyer is the only one ND's wish list that has won a BCS crown.
Given ND's recent history of shitty defense and their relatively weak schedule next year, a guy like Stoops could probably get the Irish to a BCS Bowl.
The Irish faithful have to be honest with themselves, the chances of them winning another title are slim to none. The academic rigor of the school makes them absolutely no competition for the SEC Powers. The best the Irish should really ever hope for is getting embarrassed in a BCS game like they did with Weis at the start of his stint at ND.

Ha - I got this in an email a couple of days ago. I'm still pretty sore about it. I've almost been unable to watch football because of it.
