Wasn't Ty Willingham at Stanford before coming to Notre Dame? I'm just throwing that out there, since the Cardinal aren't exactly who I look to find a coach that can win a title.

Willingham never put up 100 in two weeks kicking the asses of Oregon and USC in the process (both top 10 at the time), either.

But he did take 'em to two Rose Bowls, so there's that.

He wasn't a shit coach, nor prolly was Bob Davie... It just isn't 1965 anymore. (& considering how much that Afghan Whigs album of same year-name sucks, that's a good thing.)

(Plus, I hate Notre Dame. Cannot wait for the maligned Marquette Eagles to throttle the Irish on the hardwood.)

I guess a high school in Pennsylvania will put up with less shit than the University of Kansas when it comes to the behavior of their football coach.

Also Mangino is allegedly going to be fired before Saturday, and the Jayhawks will be coached by Clint Bowen, the Defensive Coordinator, for the final two games.

What about all those Irish Catholics who live in Boston that hate ND with a passion due to their allegiance to the Eagles of BC?

Also: Marquette is Jesuit.

... So, yeah, shitty Catholic.

Oh: & in NCAAF, I root for USC. Between the Trojans & Golden Eagles, I get to see Notre Dame get shit on at least three times (1x football, 2x basketball (barring conference tournament match-up)) a year. So right.

How about that, Notre Lame loses to UCONN on Senior Day in South Bend. The Huskies should have had that game won in regulation, but gave the Irish another chance to FAIL in OT.

Believe it or not, I was actually rooting for ND to lose, to help expedite the shitcanning of Captain Lapband.

Nebraska is one half from winning the Big 12 Title, as they are currently leading the K-State Wildcats 10-3 at the half.

As for LSU, I don't think they would have ever got the FG unit on the field with one second left, but it also should have never come to that. After the onside kick and the WR screen to get in FG range, they should have ran the ball up the gut a few times and prayed that they made the long FG.

It was a 40 yd play---they easily could've gotten the FG unit on the field if Miles had planned ahead during his time out and hadn't STB. If they hadn't wasted 15 seconds before calling a TO on the previous play they could've clocked the ball as well---again, Miles STB. This is completely on the head coach. Horrible loss.

I fully agree, I just don't think it even needed to come down with that 40yd play after the two plays that resulted in huge losses of yards and quality field position.

Nebraska is currently leading 17-3 after the 3rd. The Huskers aren't necessarily playing well, but they keep getting turnovers to keep the two touchdown lead.

Can your boys beat Texas? And if they do, can TCU leap frog the Bama/Fla loser in the BCS? That's what I'd like to know.

You'll have to ask me again after the game against Colorado on Friday. Nebraska really owes TCU for being able to reach the 2001 BCS game, and it would be be great to prevent Texas from playing for a title after they essentially did the same thing to the Huskers in both 1996 and 1999.

Nebraska's Defense may be slightly better than the Longhorn Defense, but I think the Longhorns have a lot more fire power on offense than the Huskers do right now.

BTW, the final score was 17-3 in favor of the Huskers. I'm still hoping Suh gets an invite to NYC for the Heisman ceremony.

I like their chances...the key to shutting down Texas is getting pressure on McCoy without blitzing...and Suh and his boys are pretty stout

the biggest question is if the offense can carry enough of the load to allow the defense to win the thing

You've got to love SEC Football, at least a decent number of fans were heckling these fools.

Is UGA well on its way to a .500 or sub .500 season?

Week 12, Bowl Projections

I don't think they actually made too many changes or at least rational changes like dropping ND, Georgia and LSU down the pecking order. Plus, they have a Kansas team with a losing record in the Independence Bowl and don't have the Sooners on the board.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootbal ... redictions

BCS games seem to be pretty much static until the title games are decided.
Interesting match ups:
Sun: USC vs Oklahoma
Music City: Georgia vs Florida State
Pizza: Central Michigan vs Notre Dame

So after Stanford lost to Cal last night, is Harbaugh still an attractive candidate for the Irish?
Maybe they should go after Tedford.

Starting to hear some talk about Gary Patterson.

He's a smart, safe pick. If he can make TCU into a BCS level team, he can certainly make sure the Irish are regularly competitive. He'd almost guarantee ND a 10 win season next year, and seems to be able to successfully manage both sides of the ball.

Bruce Feldman still has Nebraska facing LSU in the Cotton Bowl. I don't think that happens unless Texas wins the Big 12 Title and Oklahoma State receives a BCS at large bid.
Insight: Oklahoma vs Minnesota
Georgia projected into either the Papa Johns versus UCONN or Iowa State in Independence
