has anyone ever looked at the talent that was on this thing? Holy crap. Everyone from the guy that wrote Eternal Sunshine to the guy that wrote Pootie Tang, plus half of the Daily Show, the guy who played the oldest brother on Blossom and Dave Chappelle. I mean, christ on a cross.

Because Dana Carvey stopped being funny the second he left SNL.

i watched this show every week it was on (i was in 7th grade at the time) and i thought that it was quite hilarious. it seemed like my friend and i were the only people in america who actually watched it.

the only sketch i can remember is steve carell and someone else playing germans screaming nice things at each other like "THIS SOUP IS DELICIOUS, I MUST HAVE THE RECIPE" and "MR. HOLLAND'S OPUS IS THE FEEL-GOOD MOVIE OF THE YEAR".

THAT CLOUD LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE PONY.

I thought it was funny too.

All I remember is that the first sketch of the first episode ( if memory serves ) involved Carvey breastfeeding puppies.

And I think the show aired after "Home Improvment" ( again, if memory serves ) .

So...anyone still wondering why it didn't last?

EDIT : after a little Googling...it was Carvey playing President Clinton breastfeeding puppies. Again...any questions?

show was hillarious.

my one memory was a Beatles interview and bring on George Harrison, and he says something like,

"well i come in one day and play my new song 'nelson the little squiddy' and they start screaming 'the beatles will never have a song about a bloody mollusk' and then a week later they come in with 'octopusses garden' . . . . there was a lot of crap like that.'

I remember reading about this alot in that SNL book and why it failed. I have forgotten all the points they made, but it's kinda like when you look at the ben stiller show and wonder what the hell happened, thn see that bob odenkirk is supposed to be a "zany" guy. i was like what the fuck?

Never saw the show, but caught the tail-end of a program (VH-1, probably) that featured highlights from the short-lived DC Show. The best highlight came from a skit that parodied a Taco Bell commercial or something Grade D beef, bean & cheese. Apparently, TB was one of the sponsors that hadn't yet bailed on the show. When the skit finally did air, TB or TV executives found the content so offensive, they pulled the plug midway through the show. The last 15 minutes of the show ended in static or something.

Anyone catch this?
