Fuck what they have become, this album still owns. I pulled it out for some reason after probably listening to it 5 times since 2000. And now it is in almost constant rotation.

One of my favorite albums. Hands down best Wilco effort in my opinion. I like Summerteeth, but it's Blonde on Blonde to Being There's Highway 61 Revisited.

Hell yea. Just put it as my favorite Wilco album in the other thread. It always has been. Honestly, there are very few songs on the album that I skip past or don't like.

My favorite and most played album by them. It just never gets old for me.

I'd like it much better as a single disc, but it's good some good stuff on there.

As I also stated in the other thread, I find that I like Wilco less and less as time passes.

I knew you were on this train...and Summerteeth is my #2.

The songs are well put together, and the subject matter etc is resonating with me these days like it hasn't in sometime.

Totally agree. I'm not down with anyone who hates on post Summerteeth stuff, but Being There is their classic album.

Some gutless fuck stole Disk 1 from me in school. I hardly ever pick up & play Disk 2. Always thought it was a good segue from A.M.

I think I'm going to throw on Summerteeth today to see if I still hate it.

Here, here, Senator I was TERRIFIED in opening this thread you were going to trash it. It's one of the best in my collection. Your both a gentleman and a scholar (even if you deleted nearly everything I gave you from my I-Pod).

I love Being There and it probably has most of my favorite Wilco songs but I still think YHF is a better album.

It's my number #3, with Summerteeth being #2. I kind of think it might have worked better as a single as well. I know I've always favoured Disc 1 over 2, but I need to hear it again though, it's been awhile.

I hate when people steal 1 disc of a double album. Somebody stole the 2nd disc of my white album. It's very annoying. Fuckers.

It also sucks when you've got a double "album" and 1 disc craps out on 'ya.

I have had disc one of this stolen on at least 3 occasions, and a few weeks ago when I asked Bloor if he had this, both of our copies were missing the first disc. Thanks to Dumpjack for shooting this to me...I wasn't to keen on buying it for the third time.

Speaking of double discs/albums, where do you guys think Being There stands with other double albums? Usually double albums turn out poorly, but there are exceptions i.e. Being There.

Some htat come to mind are:

Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You

Flaming Lips - Zaireeka

Cpt. Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica

Dylan - Blonde on Blonde

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew & Live Evil

Neil Young - Live Rust

That's all i can think of right now.
