SubPop releases their new album on October 25th. They're also releasing an EP featuring exclusive tracks that won't be on the album. The track featured here is taken from the EP and I think it rocks.

Rogue Wave - 10:1

I like these guys too, but this song wasn't that great. I'm gonna have to listen to it a few more times.

I liked their first album a lot, but damn if they don't sound like Shins-lite

this sounds more like the ceasars than the shins to me... i found the whole ep in the used bin at the record store already. The other songs weren't like this one at all and not very shinsy fin my opinion either. Perhaps a bit Death CAb for Cutie-ish if anything but not as cloying. A little Paul Simonish too.

np: the only ones

That keyboard line is almost exactly the same as a ceasars song from the record before last. I'll root around and see if I can pinpoint the song for you. It's just that song 10:1 that brings the ceasars to mind for me, by the way not the whole record. That other song Crush the Camera on the EP totally gives me a DCFC vibe.

My friend has the whole new album and there was one song on there called You (I think) that was really really Death Cab-ish. Just my opinion anyway...

I like rogue wave a lot by the way, I'm not trying to dis them at all with these comparisons. I was just responding to the shins comparison which I see levelled at every band and their mother lately and its just starting to seem like a lazy comparison.

I think you have the best member name on the board! How about al pastor with pineapple???

This track isn't really doing it for me and I love their last album. I'm anxious to hear the EP and new full length.

Edit-the 3rd listen sunk in. Good song.
