I just found out that he is playing a show in Charlotte tomorrow night. Is it worth me shilling out $10 to see some live music just a few minutes from my house?

Keep in mind that I have only listened to like 1 Smog EP ever ('Neath the Puke Tree)and that's it. Also, Charlotte doesn't get a whole lot of shows, so I have to take what I can get sometimes.

Sooo...who's seen him and can recommend it?

edit: He's playing with Erie Choir and Upsidedown Stars in case you have heard of them.

No help here, but $10 is a pretty good price to see anybody these days.

Absolutely. Go.

Seen him a handful of times and never fails to put on a decent show. Worth all ten of your ducketts. The rotation of players changes more often than the KC pitching staff, but the backup team always bring their A-game. I've never heard Puke Tree, so I've no idea what you have to gauge him by, but I can YSI A River Ain't Too Much Love after work if you'd like. I think it's some of his best material since Dongs of..
Holla back, girl.

That's good to hear. I had read a bit about his latest album after I posted this, so I had already pretty much made up my mind to go see him anyways. And then your ringing endorsement has pushed me over the edge, so I will be going.

And Moxie, I could definitely go for a YSI of the album when you get off work. Thanks.

I've only seen him do a solo in-store once. It was mostly really good. I'm planning to go see him here on Thursday. I'm sure whatever backing band he has will be great.
