at some point in the last few weeks, every video file i play in a program that isn't quicktime displays as some sort of corrupt image that i can't seem to fix. it's like i changed the video settings so that it looks bizarre and mostly unwatchable, but i most certainly did not do that. and it's literally every program except quicktime.

has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? it's more of an annoyance than anything else.

most likely there is some shared codec (COder/DECoder) that one of them downloaded automatically and installed incorrectly, screwing up the rest. I would try installing the newest version of those programs one by one and see if that fixes it.
