There were Mini Pops. I found this 1982 release from the fine folks at K-Tel today at the Goodwill for a buck. Talk about ruining people's lives. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the "recording studio" was in some guy named Norm's garage, with five or six windowless Econoline vans parked on the curb.
The front. That 9 to 5 girl is depressing. Jesus.
The back. Seems harmless enough right?
But wait, what's that down in the lower left? Holy fucking Vaseline smeared all over Bernard Law's crotch they have 8 year olds dressed up as the Village People?!?
I got another one called
More Than Friends by an odd couple that vaguely represents the "Lovers" sketch with Will Ferrell & Rachel Dratch, except in place of the oddly progerian looking Dratch there is a rather wholesome looking young lass.
Another good one was Ed Bruce's face gracing the cover of his album
You Won't Leave Here Tonight with his half-smile half covered by his Grade A flavor saver moustache.
Be careful out there.
