I know it's still a bit early but it's my favorite season and I prefer Autumn songs way over Summer or Winter songs and slightly more than Spring songs.

Yo La Tengo - Autumn Sweater
Hawksley Workman - Autumn's Here
Aberfeldy - Summer's Gone
The Anniversary - All Things Ordinary
The Kinks - Autumn Almanac

Autumns Monologue - by From Autumn to Ashes

(featuring the beautiful haunting vocals of Ms. Melanie Wills of the band One True Thing. Heh!)

Good god man, the heat index around here is still hovering around 100. I need to feel the cool crispness to really respond.

That being said, My Morning Jacket is some good listening that time of year.

Fall rules. Cooler weather, football, and bourbon. What's not to like?

I endorse this statement.

Some of my favorite fall songs:

Portishead-Humming
Massive Attack-Black Milk
Tricky-Christiansands

anything folk will get'er done as well.

Boys of Summer -- Don Henley

(always makes me yearn for summer, once the season is done) -- I know, not indie enought but I like it plenty.

Cheers,

Alright, it's starting to act windy around here and I've had to wear a sweater when I've gone out the past two days, so keep the suggestions coming.

Just caught this... And, dOOdz, you'll be missing out. They were twenty-four and twenty-one, the first supposedly having completed her Economics degree, the other taking time off from a maths programme, and working in the U.S. ('Sconsin specifically) as au pair. I met them at the Barnes in Mayfair while en route to seeing Pieces of April at the AMC theatre.

fall indeed rules.

I always listen to an inordinate amount of Arab Strap, Broadcast, and Neil Young around now. It kicks ass that they're all releasing new records. Whiskeytown is another autumn favorite.

The entirety of The Kingsbury Manx's Let You Down album, and not just because Pitchfork said it first. Seriously, this is Fall Music.

To me, fall is all those gravelly voiced artists playing mellow tempoed songs: Dylan, Waits, Springsteen, Cave, Bachman...
