So my company is in trouble, probably for sale, who knows it's not quite the type of info they share with the folks on my sales team. I know the numbers and see we are going down fighting but still going under.

What am I to do. The company has been good to me. Me leaving would drive a 16 penny into the coffin for most of the souteastern territory. Do I ride it out until the end? That could drive me insane! Even things are spinning out of control on a national level, I stress about my numbers.

Anyone been in this situation before?

Been there, still there, although we're through the woods now and close to exiting Chapt. 11.

If your company's for sale and your a decent performer, I wouldn't sweat it--if you're critical to whatever continued success they might have, shake them down for a retention bonus.

Definitely get some other irons in the fire in case the firm folds.

If you really feel like the end is looming....

Make sure your resume is together, and start sending out feelers...

I wouldnt gouge em for any kind of retention bonus.. It seems like they would probably wanna spend their $ elsewhere, and if they do manage to pull through, it wouldnt look good on you after the fact...

Keep your eye open for a lateral or upward jump to another company, and I would personally stick it out until the checks for salary stopped coming....

Im sure every market is different, but I would look now but only jump if there is an offer you cant refuse (i.e. one you wouldnt refuse even if the company went under)..

Nah, if the firm's getting bought, there's money to go around. Best to get some of it. If they're reorganizing on their own, that's a different story. if they're re-organizing in court, then the re-org is being financed which means there's money going around, best to get some.

KERP's are nearly always approved by the creditors' committee. They realize that you need to compensate your best performers for the added risk of staying with a company who's future is questionable.

If you really know the company's going tits up, get out. I've ridden one of these things to the bitter fuckin' end before - not a smart idea.

Harry, I know there's something in the wake of your smile.
and I get a notion from the look in your eyes; you've built a love but that love falls apart, your little piece of heaven turns too dark.

Likely, you sometimes wonder if this fight is worthwhile when the precious moments are all lost in the tide and they're swept away and nothing is what is seems - the feeling of belonging to your dreams - well, Harry, there are voices that want to be heard,
so much to mention but you can't find the words, the scent of magic, the beauty that's been, when love was wilder than the wind.

Harry, listen to your heart. There's nothing else you can do. I don't know where you're going and I don't know why, but listen to your heart before you tell them goodbye.

Jesus Frosted! I may be drunk but those might be the most beautifull words ever spoken to me.

Hold on I get it....it's a Harry Potter quote isn't it? "The scent of magic" gave you all away. It was a bit to Stevie Nicks or something.

Beautifull though.....thoughtfull

Thanks.
