Hey Stop Breathin' and anyone else in that area, hope you're safe and far away from this monster. Watching it now on TV, crossing my fingers for you all.

Stay safe peeps.

Go. Get to higher ground. Don't be playin' with this one.

NOLA, hang in there, love your town. Best wishes to you La, Al, Fl, Tx, Ms folk., and any other Gulf Coasters.

I am trying to figure out wtf to do. This could really suck. I have already cancelled a fundraiser for monday in NO, and may have to give up on Wednesday's in Mobile.

If you haven't ever been to New Orleans, you may have missed your chance.

Tanner, I keep seein' Houma on that map, I hope your safe.

Good thing is I am in the lower SE corner of Bama right now, probably the only place not set to get fooked. We shall see.

11:30 CDT - Category 5, sustained winds 175 mph, gusts over 200 mph. This is the storm that New Orleans has prayed would never happen for years. The city could, quite literally, be wiped out. New Orleans is completely below sea level and cautionary warnings are predicting the complete failure of the levee system if the storm eye crosses directly over. There are many scenarios that could affect the city differently, depending on wind direction and storm surge. It's not good, though. New Orleans could become Atlantis. I can't speak for oldbulee, but I'm in a high-ground area that is not really in danger of flooding. Our biggest fear now is wind damage and the loss of power for weeks possibly. I'll probably lose power sometime this evening, so please pray for us all in south LA, Mississippi and Alabama Gulf Coast. An Orleans parish official recently commented that this was "The Perfect Storm". Much love.

This is just a copy/paste of my comment from the other thread. Thanks for all the well-wishes and prayers. You guys are, as usual, great.

Holy jesus, I'll pray with all my might that this doesn't happen. I hope you're all safe and I hope the city doesn't get wiped out. That's scary as hell and sad.

Bourbon blues on the street loose and complete
Under skies all smoky blue-green
I can Forksake the dixie dead shake
So we dance the sidewalk clean
My memory is muddy what's this river I'm in
New Orleans is sinking and I don't want to swim

(This song is a bee-och to play on guitar!)

Hope the mayor remembered to mention the hurricane to the foreign tourists. Probably thousands and thousands of them in New Orleans this time of year.

HELLO GOODBYE - Blind Melon

I'm entering a frame bombarded by indecision
Where a man like me can easily let the day get out of control
Down this far in the quarter
I'm pushed hard upon the border
But, I'd rather be caught 'round now instead of oh, say, 'round the month of June
But if I can leave with a little bit of explanation
Then anywhere in the world I choose to go
I'll have it made.

I wasn't really following this hurricane until today...good Gawd, I'm reading some terrifying shit. This could be catastrophically, historically bad. For once, I hope the media is just hyping this a bit.

Best of luck to ya'll down there.

They'll be appearing, too. And I think they've gained some weight.

Seriously, I've lived through several hurricanes in my lifetime, and never before have I been the slightest bit afraid. This one is making me pretty uneasy. I'm gonna have to eat an extra Xanax just for good measure.

LOL The same thing I did before she hit my area. That also contributed to me having a hard time walking to my friend's house a few blocks away during the height of the storm.
