not to sound like timmyjoe, but i've never spent that amount of money for any show, period! when tix 1st went on sale, i scoffed. now after recanting, i think it'll be worth it to see them.

btw, the milwaukee show isn't sold out, probably because they play the same night as the stones.

That's $45 per, and if you include all the taxes and fees, it's not terrible, I suppose.

Do ya think you should look for a "secret" show by the Stones and Stripes somewhere in Brewtown? I think I might start snoopin' if I loved up that way.

How's it going?

STFU.

I say that not's bad. They're one of the biggest/hottest bands in the world right now and it doesn't surprise me that that's what they are going for.

I've seen em once and they kicked serious ass.

Timis, sometime you have to venture outside of the indie rock club, participate in larger cultural experiences, and pay more than $8 to see bigger bands.

<--------paid $112 for Stones tix in Atlanta and I'm looking forward to it. So what.

Rick Derris,

i would spend 100+ to see a band like the stones...but white stripes - come th e fuck on.

"They're one of the biggest/hottest bands in the world right now" <-- are you kidding me???? they have fizzled for sure over the last 2 albums....i paid 3 bucks to see them in 2001 and that was more then enough. not saying they were bad but to pay ~50 to see them is out of control.

i've seen the white stripes twice. the total cost was $14 (service included). both shows were really great. i'm not sure i can ever see them again, though.

on another board, the thread has evolved to that "be an adult and pay more than $10 for a show" discussion. i get it, but i can't imagine myself throwing down so much for just a show. i guess my stance is that you can't complain if you actually paid for it. and i won't complain on a board after i scoff at such prices.

Timis, fair enough.

I don't even know what constitutes "big" or "hot" anymore anyway. I'm thinking in Record Industry terms.

Did "Get Behind Me Satan" sell more than 500,000 or am I crazy?

maybe they're closing wolski's

todd, i've been great! new career. new love. travel. life's been really sweet! i'll be spending next weekend in chi-town to celebrate my son's 9th (can't believe it!) -- i'm taking him to the final showing of "lion king". seems like forever since i caught a show in chi-town, let alone saw you and the rest of the crew. i'd thought about seeing doves, but don't think it'll happen, especially after the title of this thread. all the best.

Seen em 7 times and working on going to all 3 Detroit shows.

I've got problems.

yeah the cost of the ticket for when i saw them a couple of weeks ago was about $56. but then again that includes ticketbastard fees. i still want my money back though because i didn't think the show was that great. there were certain parts where i got bored, and then other parts where they rocked.

kinda sad but i'm used to the cost of tickets... generally shows at the bigger venues here in la like the hollywood bowl, the greek, etc. cost $40+ for a ticket.

I can't justify paying more than $25 for a show, and I've only come close to that amount 3 or 4 times in my life.

The one White Stripes show I went to (actually, I went to see the The Waxwings open) was $8.
