After twenty years of only liking "Runaway," I've decided to finally relax and let the Jon wash over me. Let you know if it works.

Isn't it funny how many imitators that humongous selling Elvis title has spawned over the years?

Image

Two big ones just recently from opposite ends of the rock spectrum in the brilliant collection by The Fall...

Image

and now in this one-upsmanship Bon Jovi collection...

Image

I think Elvis Costello even tried to cash in on the concept at one point along with a few other similarly titled collections. Doesn't anyone in rock music have an original thought anymore? :)

Are you saying, he reminds you of a good-looking woman, or that you would bend (but not break) your gayness for a nite with Bon Jovi?

He's the Ethel Merman of hair metal.

I don't know what that means either, but give me some time and I'll validate the concept.

The first time I got drunk at a party, Bon Jovi was. It was Grade 9 in Mike Rositano's (i think) basement and I drank a few cans of beer and we all rocked out and danced and sang along to Bad Medicine. Over and over and over again in that way that only 14 year olds can.

what i'm saying is that he has a nice ass. just cuz i'm gay does not mean that i don't enjoy men or their bodies. besides the rest of him is icky. everyone should know of my undying lust for johnny depp and i'm here to say that olivier martinez could have his way with me any time.

as for bending my gayness (i love that phrase) it's rare but has happened during the almost 30 years i've been "out." life is a cabaret ol' chum.

now...back to the music.

Yes. But Johnny Depp and Olivier Martinez, while macho, machista auteurs, also are construed as cuddly and non-threatening.

Bon Jovi plays hair-metal, meanwhile; the most sexist, dangerous sonic rot, ever.

Redemption is a beautiful thing.

<----- post reply written after saying Radcliffe's skepticism bugs the fuck out of me.

My first reaction to seeing this album/thread title was "Wanna bet?"

I've got plenty of cheezball 80's rock in my almost 2000 item strong collection, but there's no place for JBJ's low-grade swill in there.

I'm pretty certain Monty's decided he doesn't like any of the music we yack about so every post is now about sex.

Hey, I'd be gay for Johnny. Well, except for the whole penis part.

What about fans who have seen the band multiple times?

Was that calculated in the box set title equation?
I mean, how would they know?

Did they survey each of the 100 Million?

Is it 100 million including the fanatics who saw them 10-15 times, or is it base don a full individual 100 million people...

i mean, cmon

All I know is that "Living on a Prayer" is a fucking great song to hear at a dueling piano bar. So awesome.
