I mentioned this in another thread... Anyway they are a metal band from Louisiana who has just had an absolutely ridiculous stretch of bad luck over the past couple years. To summarize, they went on tour a couple of years ago, got into a motor vehicle accident, had some pretty bad injuries I guess, went home and recovered. When they're finally back on their feet, they go out on tour again, and their van gets hit by someone. Everyone is OK except one guy in the band who broke multiple bones in his legs. He was wheelchair bound for sometime. After he rehabs and they're ready to start up again, their bass player quits. The guy they get to replace him is fatally shot in New Orleans. So now, they have a new album out and are on tour and Katrina hits.
So, here's something from their message board. If you like metal, go out and see them. Sounds like they could use the support:

Hello All,
This is Ben from Soilent Green and I am justing letting you all know that we are safe and still out on the road. Some of us have made contact with our families and some still have not spoken to anyone they are close to.
We apologize for the cancelation of the LaCrosse, WI show and the Toledo, OH show but we had van troubles and the van was in a shop in Springfield, MO. We didn't get it until late on August 31st, so we could not make the Toledo, OH show. We are currently in Cincinnati, OH (where we will be playing tonight) and we will be moving onwards with the tour until we get word that we can get back to our homes to check things out. We appreciate all the support and the more people that come out to the shows the more it will help us as we are in tight means financially.
The show tonight (9/1/05) is not in Dayton, OH anymore and has been moved to Cincinnati, OH at a venue called Never On Sundays. Please spread the word and tell many to come out and help support the tour.
Also, A Perfect Murder has dropped from the tour now since the Memphis, TN show. The singer Kevin got really sick and was unable to finish the tour. Into The Moat is currently not with us either. They are stuck out in Florida and they are expected to be back with us on September 3rd. The started the tour with no Bass Player then eventually obtained one halfway through the tour to only have one of the guitarists quit. They went home, obtained a new guitarist and ended up stuck due to Hurricane Katrina. They are back on track and will be joining shortly like stated.
Thanks for all your support and concern and hope to see you all at any of the shows we have left.
Peace
Benjamin
