That PM shit is pretty hit or miss with me.

There is some sort of irony here but OTC meds rarely work or work in reverse for me.

Dunno. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and shotgun a beer or something.

Sometimes like one beer and eating a piece of bread will work....

No need to go on a bender at 2:30.

I, like you, have important work tmrw.

Well, at least I'm not the only one. Woke up at 2 when the baby started crying because she was hungry, tried desperately to get back to sleep while my wife fed her, then when they both got upset because the whole feeding thing was turning into a vicious cycle of feed-cry-feed-cry, I woke up fully to offer comfort. A short time later both of them are sound asleep and now I'm wide awake and have been for 3.5 hours. I'm leaving for work in a half hour on only a couple hours sleep, my first day back after over two weeks off. That's the last time I try to offer comfort in the middle of the night. Mom and baby are on their own from now on!

Perhaps you have "Restless Legs Syndrome"?

Otherwise, I'd recommend trying 5-HTP.

I used to have a serious issue with insomnia. About two three years back, I'd sleep about three hours a night if at all. This went on for about a year.

Booze doesn't help, it made my problem much worse(plus I think I developed an alcohol prob during that time).

I go through phases of it, now I have at least a few days straight once a month where it's bad.

It's more then likely stress. I've taken to swimming for a while each afternoon/early evening this past week cause mine was bad last week. It seems to be helping. It's calming.

I'd say find out what's stressing you and try to rid your head of it somehow.

Ah ha. I think I maybe just got a clue to the ever evolving mystery of what it is you do for a living.....

And Charli---- I agree with you on the two causes of this shit: Boozin' and stress (funny how those two go hand in hand sometimes).

The funny thing is that I've actually been sleeping pretty good for the last few months; its just come back up now.....

Oh yeah, I ended getting about 3 hrs or so total: Now, WE TIRED!!!!

This week has been nasty for me too sleepwise.

Although I'm loving living with my man I think my sleep is suffering:

- different schedules
- blanket stealage
- other random things

:(

The other night I stupidly had a coffee before bed and lay there in bed from 12midnight till 4am trying to sleep. Argh.

i average 4-5 hours a night during the week. it doesn't bother you so much if you just spend your sleepless hours doing something. waiting to fall asleep just makes it unbearable.

5-HTP (a Serotonin reuptake inhibitor i think) will probably work a bit safer then my suggestion

I wake up almost every night at 3:00 am. It's gotten to the point where I'm just resigned to it, so I flick on the light and do crossword puzzles for an hour or two. What's a 5 letter word for a sudden rush of air inwards? SUCKS.

I wake up usually every night around 3:30 or 4, try to read for like a half hour, usually puts me back out. Then I ALWAYS wake up at 5am, flick from Sportscenter (TV to go to sleep to) to MSNBC (IMUS, bitches, and absorb that til I'm fully awake around 6:30-7.

What's awesome is on the weekends, I still repeat this trick, even though the gf is one of them sleepin'....

I really hate when I get like a good 5 hours of sleep, my alarm goes off and I have to get up to go to the bathroom even though I can stay in bed for like another 15 minutes.
