‘Help: A Day In The Life’ is the fastest album download ever
The charity record is on course to be the biggest selling download album ever too…

‘Help: A Day In The Life' is the fastest album download ever and is on course to be the biggest selling download album in the chart’s history.

A total of 90,000 tracks have already been downloaded, positioning the charity record firmly at Number One in the online countdown, with 4,000 of those being whole albums and the rest as single tracks.

Radiohead’s contribution ‘I Want None Of It’ is currently the most popular song, even entering last week’s download chart, despite only being available for one day before the rundown was counted.
‘Help: A Day In The Life’ – which is available to purchase from www.warchildmusic.com - will be available from all major downloading sites, including iTunes from tomorrow (September 13).

As previously reported on NME.COM , groups including Radiohead, Gorillaz, Razorlight, The Zutons, Manic Street Preachers, Bloc Party, Coldplay, Babyshambles and Elbow went into studios to record new songs last Thursday (September 8 ).

The event marks the ten-year anniversary of the first ’Help’ album, which featured Blur, Oasis, Radiohead and Suede, and raised more than £1.25m for children caught up in the Bosnian war.

’Help: A Day In The Life’ will be released on CD through Independiente on September 26.

All of the money raised by the new record will be used by War Child to provide both material and psychological support and rehabilitation to children on the edge of conflict and post-conflict societies.
