what are your thoughts on this game? i know that the ATL circle jerk is probably focused on their SC game but come on, that thing's going to be over right after the coin flip. This game, however, could be interesting.

I really like Texas this year - but they always manage to find a way to blow it, so it should be interesting.

I mainly focus on the Pac 10 - even though it pretty much sucks these days outside of USC.

Vince will run wild. Hawk will do his best Katzenmoyer impression.
UT - 34, Goblin Cock - 24.

I normally don't like Texas, due to being a Nebraska fan, but I really dislike The Ohio State University since the Clarett scandal and the fact it took a bad call for them to beat Miami and win a title. I'm sticking with the boys from the Big XII even though our conference looked like crap last week. I will be following this game as I am in attendance at the Nebraska-Wake Forest game.

yeah that's where i'm at too. Vince looks like he's straight out of the randall cunningham mold but he could get POPPED and that would be the end of that.

Doubt he'll run wild.

I'm not even gonna make a pick on this one--definitely not gonna lay a dime on it.

Cant wait to watch it though................should be a fucking great one.

I hope Texas loses b/c I feel OSU has better shot at losing later in the season.

Always look out for number 1. (ie UGA)

If Texas does win this game, they probably won't lose the rest of the way now that Oklahoma was taken out by TCU and A&M by Clemson. I only hope that Nebraska is good enough to win the crappy Big XII North and face an unbeaten Longhorn team in the conference title game. It would be sweet to ruin their title hopes after they eliminated us from a chance at a three peat in 96.
Off topic, How confident are the UGA fans this weekend as Richt faces Spurrier?

I'm pretty confident. They lost so many players to either graduation or suspension and struggled in the second half to a Central FL team that didn't win a game last year. I think Central FL is better this year but I saw an SC team that couldn't run the ball for shit.

That game is always weird though. We've been ranked when we played them every year under Mark Richt but have only won by more than 10 once and lost to them one year. They always play us tough. UGA - 28 SC - 17

Texas/OSU:

I think UT is loaded this year. If it doesn't happen for them this year it never will. I haven't seen any of OSU so I don't know what they have but I'll still give the edge to UT even though it's at OSU.

Is the line still a Pick em?

UT may be loaded, but they have Mack Brown as their coach. And he just can't seem to win the big games. That said, I have no idea who I'd pick to win the game.

This screams "NC State fan". I think Mack's nothing but a glorified Mackovic, if I don't say so myself. I hate UT, esp. the football program, but I still think they'll pull off the W.

Is this the biggest non-conference game (not involving Notre Dame) since Michigan-Oregon?

Didn't the road team pull that one out too?

USC versus Virginia Tech to star the year was a pretty big game, probably more important to the BCS Title than Michigan vs. Oregon.
One could argue that USC benefitted from a few calls in that game, and screwed Auburn out of a chance for the title in the first week.
Nebraska plays in LA against USC next year, I am guessing we will get tore up bad as of now, but we might be better then them sans Leinart next season.

Oh, no doubt. The Trojans under Carroll have definitely played respectable non-conference games - BYU, Hawai'i, Notre Dame, Va. Tech - and often on the road/neutral field, but I don't think that anyone would say USC-BYU is a big game.

And I wouldn't even say that of USC-VaTech. Just my anti-Tech bias. (I have never gotten over them getting heaps of praise for excelling out of the Big East during the "lean" years (late 90s) for Miami (Fla.), then laying a huge egg in the Sugar against Fla. St.

That was stupid.

Ain't that the truth. Top-to-bottom it's looking like a pretty weak conference this year.

Indeed.

If he weren't dead, Woody Hayes would come to your house and kick your ass. Come to think of it, he still might.
