I'm sure this is irrelevant for most, but I just saw Origin was properly released today in the States. I like to hear that. New Born is just an awesome first track. Such a good album and band.

By 'proper', I think he meant 'domestic', as in 'a domestic US release'.

but wasn't this a relatively big album? It seems that every self respecting emo kid and his dog are obsessed with this album...why did they wait for so long?

speaking of not so good, whilst in New Zealand i got hooked on your Cadbury 'Energy' chocolate (you know, the red one), and upon my return i find myself unable to stomach regular Cadbury Milk Chocolate. It's like going from whiskey to soft drink, and expecting it to fly...

everything junk-food related over there is better. I love it how your Macca's doesn't pussy-foot around glossing itself over as a 'health food' store like it does here. The funniest thing though was some guy at a store trying to bag me out about my accent. He reckons we say "feesh and cheeps", to which i replied, "No, we pronounce the 'i' like an 'i', the way it is meant to be pronounced".

You silly Kiwis...

And what's more, i didn't hear Scribe once on the radio the whole time was there, instead every second song was Audioslave.

Not once did i hear 'Niw Zulland Hup-Hop throw your hunds up!'.

But overall...it's a nice country you got there. The vegetation isn't all dead like it is here.

well, up until "Absolution", Muse had very minimal exposure stateside.

"Time Is Running Out" broke them over here finally [6 months after Absolution was released I might add], so they've had heavy radio play, and very successful set of tours. It's finally time to unleash a domestic version of Origin.

it's a fantastic album, start to finish, and after seeing the response to Absolution, it should do very well over here.

That can't be. I owned this album two years ago and have since sold it. It must be a reissue.

Well, they did try and release Showbiz domestically, but pretty much everything else is import only.

citizen erased, plug in baby and new born are really good tracks.

i got my copy while i was in britain.

opa, you're so special that muse released one copy to the u.s. two years ago, licensed and distributed directly to you, and thus that this new "domestic release" will be a re-issue especially for you, to make you feel superior in all things muse.

Seeking an Obnerpinion: does Showbiz pretty much blow as much as I think it does, or is it just me? Love Absolution, but Showbiz seems like it's trying really hard to be big and super dramatic. I can't listen to it.

i hadn't listened to showbiz in years until i recently loaded it onto my mp3 playa.
still has some really good songs (muscle museum and uno come immediately to mind) even if they are total radiohead rips.

edit: but i think the majority opinion on this album is that it blows.

Ah, okay, I feel better now. I thought maybe I was missing something. Origin of Symmetry is better than this? As good as Absolution?

I heard of Muse through none other than CMJ and I remember when they were first mentioned in that magazine it was in a sounds like Radiohead article. They mentioned like five upcoming acts that derive their sound from Radiohead. I've said it before on this board and I'll definitely say it again now since they are one of my favorite acts...

Muse blows the fuck out of Radiohead. A Radiohead album will put me to sleep compared to a Muse album. I've seen them both live and guess which show I enjoyed more...

Attack!
