...was fantastic. Show is off to a great start.

Also, does anyone have any idea what song was playing during the Ryan-Marissa-having-sex - Marissa's-Dad-getting-the-crap-beaten-out-of-him scenes?

And Reunion is souring really quickly. Very amateurish.

I'm loving Season 3 way better than Season 2.

I believe it was Shout Out Louds "Wish I Was Dead Pt. 2." I wonder if Julie will finally learn her lesson and learn to shape up? Naaaah, I'm sure she'll find another rich old dude with a mansion. Can't wait 'til next week's episode.

I still like Reunion. Guilty pleasure. I heart FOX trash tv.

Don't remember the song now.

But I remember getting very agitated thinking they were going to kill off Jimmy Cooper. Josh and I both totally thought he was going to get killed. Sure as hell seemed like it the way they beat the living crap out of him.

I agree that the show is off to great start this season. First episode was decent. But last night was just plain awesome.

But that dean of students is a complete jackass and adds some spice to the show. I'm convinced him and that little twerp Taylor are sleeping together. haha

Reunion is meh. I'm slightly intriqued but in a " I want to know who killed who but I'm going to read a book while I'm watching it and only watch parts I want to watch" way.

Definitely guilty pleasure. I'll keep watching it though just for the eye candy at least. But I can't wait til we get to 1995 at least cause these boys look too young. ;)

I think the song was "Love Burns" by BRMC? I know it played towards the end last night, but I can't remember for sure if it was during that montage.

That definitely wasn't it. I thought it was Primal Scream at one point, but I doubt it. Dri may be right. It could have been the The Shout Out Louds.

i thought the episode was pretty meh. seems like this season's getting off to a slow start; the summer/seth storyline is tired (but i think the dean of whatever should be oliver's brother/uncle), no clue given as to who the fuck jeri ryan is (oliver's mother?!), and jimmy needs to never come back, ever.

music was good though.

Actually, it looks like it was "Salvation" by BRMC.

oops. i thought it was shout out louds. my bad.

i HATE that dean. i agree with you jen, i bet taylor and the dean are sleeping together- why else would they bring her in?

i really liked jimmy cooper- i just wish he would stop getting in money troubles.

i smell something fishy with jeri ryan. should be interesting in episodes to come.

Yes, they are telegraphing Nedermeyer con Taylor. Seth and the gang will use it to blackmail him into getting Ryan and Marissa back into Harbor High in time for graduation. OR there could be a student revolt demanding Marissa Cooper graduate! Marissa /cooper graduate!

I like this putting Marissa in this new school so they can work all the women in prison/girls' reform school cliches. I hope it lasts more than just a couple episodes. I can't wait to find out what city they will attribute this Blackboard Jungle to.

I am also curious what they'll do with Julie Cooper now that Jimi is gone again and Caleb is dead.

Seeing as how they are formally announcing it's senior year, I wonder where they will go to college next season. They got a problem. This show features the parents much more than 90210 so you'd think it would be local. But a fake UC Irvine type place would be boring and too much like 90210's California University. They will go with a fictionalized private school in L.A. (really USC) and then pretend it's only about 15 minutes away from Newport. It will be 2 shows in one--the same OC stuff with parents and then all Hollywood clubbing type crap like when they were hanging with Oliver. In fact, Marissa should get stalked by some mystery person and then it should turn out to be Oliver! He would fool the doctors to get out and then plot his revenge. How awesome would that be? And then Ryan could kill him off once and for all.

They'll go Summer soririty girl, Seth college DJ, Marissa club kid, and Ryan will boringly transform into Brandon from 90210 and be all pre-law honor student or something but with 'the streets' always tugging him back. Eventually he'll follow in his adopted dad Sandy's footsteps and become some public interest type hero/saint who saves troubled youth like he used to be.

That NMH cover at the end was so horrible. But yeah, definitely a good episode. Except for the Jeri Ryan stuff which is really annoying.
