for us. Alot of Terrebonne Parish is under water as some levees broke. My house, and all of immediate families houses are fine. Most of the flooding is in the poor smaller communites like Dulac. November can't come soon enough.

Glad to hear everbody is OK in the family, Tanner.

Any word on whether they are still gonna play that game tmrw? I know a lot of LSU people live in Lake Charles and apparently there is flooding in Baton Rouge as well....

Thanks. I'm pretty sure they're playing. People are so starved for LSU football that they might dynamite levees in New Orleans if they don't play at this point. Or at least I might.

Just found out that my grandmother on my Dad's side has 5 feet of water and my uncle has 6 feet. But everybody's okay, and they have flood insurance.

I know you're tired of hearing this, but we're really getting jammed here. FEMA is fucking retarded. They still haven't declared this a disaster yet. Said they need to send down investigators. Fucking 10,000 homes are destroyed here. 2 levees broke. This is WAY WORSE than Katrina for us, and it was declare immediately then. Hurricanes are weird and unpredicatable. On radar it looked like nothing happened, but Rita moved so slow , and kept pushing water up shore. Most believe this is the most destruction for us since Betsy. In my lifetime we've been declared a disaster area at least 4 times but when we really need it -Nothing. Alot of people really need FEMA assistance.

Most schools are still closed. At least 5 of them are destroyed. Several others are being used as shelters. We haven't had a steady supply of food at the grocery stores since Katrina. Whenever they get food, it's usually gone by the next day or two. I work in non-profit, so I'm mainly locating resources and passing them on to other organizations.

Houma sits in the middle of 5 bayous, and is cut in half by the Intercoastal Canal. Houma itself is in pretty good shape. We have power and running water. All along the bayous is smaller communites. Pretty much everyone of those communities is flooded with about 5 to 6 feet of water.
