Has everyone that's looking forward to this already heard it? Haven't listened to it yet myself but I'm thinking this one will be a real grower. I'm so in the mood for it right now. Perfect autumn timing. Bring it on. Very good band.

i love it.

it's a happier...and maybe a bit more "poppier" elbow...which i think a few elbow fans round here aren't too fond of.

Yeah, I'm more of a moody/depressed Elbow sound fan, but I love Guy Garvey's voice, so I'll probably buy it anyway.

Asleep in the back > Cast of Thousands > Leaders of the Free World.

There are some songs I really like and overall the new one might still be a grower, but it won't surpass their debut imo.

Yeah, that debut was golden. Of course they had about 10 years to put that one together with all the broken record contracts and the career ups and downs. Pretty nice overall sound and flow for what was really a collection of EPs.

i went out thinking it was released last week. dumb ol' me.

as if i didn't enjoy the album enough as it is, i'll be buying it for the bonus dvd/cd whatever it is. the one that came with "cast of thousands" was great.

Wow! Took about three listens but now this one is really starting to get good. First pass went by pretty unremarkably except for the title track. Kind of like the latest from Super Furry Animals, which it even kind of sounds like. But then it starts to blossom and who knows where it'll go from here. Nice.

Is it actually out in the U.S.? I actually looked for it and didn't see it.

It's out in indie stores or some dumb shit, but it doesn't come out in "regular" stores until November. If you don't have an indie near you, just spring for the import. It's worth it. "Station Approach" is classic.

What, has it been delayed? Official U.S. V2 date was September 27 but I haven’t been to the store yet.

This album is one that doesn’t grab you at first but kind of reveals itself over time. I do agree that it’s a bit too upbeat but brings another dimension to Elbow.

Three down and haven’t disappointed yet, what a great band.

I went to Tower Records on Tuesday and both the new Elbow and the new Grandaddy EP were not in stock, though there were plenty of the new Wolf Parade. The clerk said those two (both V2) were delayed and mentioned some BMG problem. I'll check Amoeba or Rasputin Friday if indeed there is distribution only to indie stores, which is completely counter-intuitive if you ask me. Why would that be the case?

I don't really remember where I read that (about it being indie-only until November), but that's what I read. It's shit, that's for sure.
