Try and exclude those albums that filled a personal void or that you identify with a 'special time in your life' and objectively give me some albums that are, in your opinion, perfect. i.e. no nostalgia.

From my chart ratings…

Al Green :: Call Me | 1973
Neil Young :: On the Beach | 1974
Neil Young :: Zuma | 1975
Curtis Mayfield :: Curtis | 1970
Rolling Stones :: Sticky Fingers | 1971
Willie Nelson :: Phases and Stages | 1974
Willie Nelson :: Shotgun Willie | 1973

ok, nostalgia aside, these are perfect 10's for me...

Stone Roses - Stone Roses
The Beatles - Abbey Road
Lonnie Liston Smith - Expansions

the only 3 perfect albums IMO.

pfm gave trail of dead's "source tags and codes" a 10.0 and i honestly can't refute it.

"london calling" would be a 10.0 if there weren't something about "lover's rock" that kept it just short.

Not going to go look at my chart ratings, though I know there are a few there. Couple of toss-offs:

Pearls Before Swine/ Balaklava
Dylan/ Highway 61
Zevon/ S/T

No, nothing recent- distance provides perspective

Alright, as you all could guess:

The Heart Of Saturday Night, and Rain Dogs by Tom Waits.

What else? I just don't feel like thinking about it right now, so i'll edit sometime in the near future.

I think most of the Velvet Underground's stuff is near perfect. Same with the first couple of Ramones albums. No lulls or weak tracks. And neither albums are associated with any particular phase or anything like that, so nostalgia isn't in play. Exile is another.
