I haven't heard a lot of people talk about Rome. Shaw sent out the first episode on dvd as a teaser to subsribe to their movie channel. I thought the first episode was pretty entertaining, with a good deal of sex and violence thrown in. How has the rest held up?

I agree with your statement though, I find that compared to a couple of years ago there is far more entertaining programs to be found.

Not a big Rome fan... Lost is entertaining when I catch it...

The shows I'm watching religiously on TV right now:

Arrested Development
Curb Your Enthusiasm
The O.C. (It's a Cali thing)
Extras

The shows I skim through, if they're on (or I'm home):
The Simpsons
Family Guy
Kitchen Confidential (has promise to get better)
Entourage

Block of shows I'd really like to see, but can never catch:
My Name is Earl / The Office (American)

Possibly a stupid question, but, hey I really don't know the answer. As far as American tv shows, do you guys see everything current or are you like a season behind or whatever?

we get pretty much everything you guys get. if its not picked up by a canadian channel we get feeds of abc, cbs, nbc and fox, so we can watch it there. hbo shows are another story though. some of their shows are picked up by our movie channels, but they can be exorbitantly expensive to get (for example, i need to buy a digital cable box as well as the more expensive digital service to get them). so i just download rome or anything else thats good on hbo.

Yeah, when I lived in Ontario we had the Rogers PVR which had all the tivo features. It totally changed the way I watched tv. Then I moved out here and am having do without. It sucks. Am now officially on a Countdown 'Til I Move Back to Ontario.

Despite the crappy reviews of it, we thought it wasn't bad. Stuart Townsend trying to hide his thick Irish accent was kinda weak, they shoulda just let him run with it.

Otherwise it at least kept my attention. Wonder if it gets any better. All I know is it beats the pants out of that lame Reunion show on Fox. That show is just boring as hell and blah.

As for me, yeah, this year we're really staying in to conserve cash, plus work is busy and I'm really involved with my son's school stuff this year so television has been my escape when I'm too tired to read and there's tons of stuff on right now I like.

I could name off what I watch but it's sad because there's shows every night I like to watch(though right now Fox on Mondays is a must see, as is WB on tuesdays- as is O.C.).

Rome is absolutely stunningly brilliant. Graphic sexually and violent, but the storytelling and the acting are just phenomenal. We love it.

yeah night stalker wasn't bad though it pretty much seems like it's just going to be x-files light.
