We just launched our new corporate website. This is one of the projects I've been managing over the last 3-4 months, and am kinda glad it's over with. Keep in mind, we just flipped the switch on this past Friday, so I'm hoping the new site is propagating quickly through the web. If you get an all-white background with links along the left-hand side, that's the old site, not the new one. The new one is beige/green/chocolate brown with a nice flash intro. Anyhow, y'all are creative-minded folks, so take a look and let me know what you think. Honest criticism is welcomed and appreciated.

I know virtually nothing about website design but from someone who visits a lot of websites when he should be working, I think this seems like it's very easy to navigate and not cluttered with a bunch of text. Both positives in my book.

It's a great site, but I'd pare down on the alliteration.

I'll tell you what I think you were shooting for, you tell me if it was on purpose...

Clean, broad appeal, and relatively little hard info on the surface. More of an Infinity / Lexus feel, (with regard to imagery over info) than something like a traditional company site. There seems to be a strong push to establish a style, or almost a fashion, with the pictures, descriptions (SERIOUSLY, step back from the alliterations unless the client demanded it), and color themes.

When I first landed on it, I had to dig a little bit to figure out what the company does. That may well be ok, if the site is visited predominantly by people who already know of the company and what it does.

It looks very, very good.

I like it. This is the sort of feel I've been aiming for in updating our company website. Unfortunately, nepotism has reared its ugly head and changed everything we had originally designed and were ready to publish publicly for a more "corporate" (read: ugly and very busy) feel.

No statement of what the company actually does, that kind of annoyed me because all I could find was bland corporate speak about "meeting your needs" and such. Well, yah. I should damn well hope you want to meet my needs or else we'll both be out of business.
There should be something on the home page laying out that this is a planning/architectural type outfit.

That minor quibble aside, it's wonderfully put together and has a great feel to it. Fine job.

Thanks everybody for your comments.

Jewels: the logo is a holdover from about 15 or so years ago, long before I came along.

Haq and Cap'n: the alliteration was an unfortunate by-product. To be honest, I didn't even notice it at first, but you are right. I can see how it would be annoying.

Cap'n/Swiateck: you are the second person to tell me about the "generic" feel of the text and not really identifying what it is we do. We were actually told by our CEO and marketing committee to keep the text minimal, not to focus on what WE do, but what we can do for YOU, the client-- less focus on us, more focus on the client, the process and the results. You are right in that we were focusing more on imagery than text overall.

Aural: I hear you. Our last interim site was VERY minimal and not interesting at all, but we were updating it from a very busy, scattered, hard-to-navigate site that we had had for years prior. The problem is we have two vocal factions here: architects and engineers. Architects are always going to want to focus on the stylistic, the imagery, the color. Engineers don't give a rip about anything except explaining what we do, and showing plans of what we do, some of which are very uninteresting to people not in the field of engineering. It's hard to balance that, but I think we've managed to do it this time.

Yes, you've hit a good balance. Any suggestions I could make, if I were to invest some sort of energy into it, would be quibbling over that last 5%, in my opinion. You're already there, by and large. I liked it. But the alliteration... sledge hammer vs fly swatter.

Awesome job. Clean lines, the color is perfect and inviting, and easy to nav.

Pretty flash, slick design, clean layout = sweet.
Obtuse corporate gener-o-speak which doesn't give people the slightest clue exactly what Otak does ("Listening. Leading. Leaving Your Legacy." "Proactive partners. Passionate problem-solvers.") = not as sweet.

I know you probably had much more to do with the former than the latter, Dana, so mucho kudos to you! Just see if you can get someone other than Bill Lumbergh to write copy for the site.

And I also know you didn't have anything to do with naming the company, but "Otak" sounds like Eddie Murphy's Buckwheat having an asthma attack.

I like it. Good job Dana. Like Dalen said, the colors are very inviting and easy on the eyes.

pretty sweet looking w/the flash. sound design & layout. a little amazing considering you're using cold fusion.
