While all the mixes I have received are good in their own way (even Drinky's Electronica ;) ) Radcliffe's SLOW MONGER is still easily the best thing that I have heard all year, and I would like to acquire the album that every song on this mix is from. It is really that fucking exceptionally good.

The DHJerico mix I got in the spring was good. It's also the only mix I've gotten, but that shouldn't disqualify it.

It wasn't officially gifted per se, but I snagged bits from a chase mix last year (or two years ago?) off soulseek. Nina Simone, Donovan, Sly, Syl, Stevie, some ukelele nonsense, Delgados & whatnot. A well-balanced potpurri of soul, funk & rock goodness. And a Mr. T outro. (B+)

Seamonster's hooked up a nice mix also.

Probably Chase's Cramed Spinach and Konstantimix 01 (i think. the one with the DJ Brokenwindow and Jeffrey Lewis songs).

Though Doppelganger's Telling Minor Stories to Avoid a Major One has crept back up there.

I'm a fan of Joey Crack's "It's Gonna Be a Long Day". I'm still waiting on a copy of "KonstantiMix3" that Darrin promised me 3 years ago. I guess it got lost in the mail?

There have been a lot of great ones, but the one that seems to stand out as the "best" in my mind is:
Saved's Third Time/No Charm (Green version)

The best mix I have received is from lollipopsncrisps, a former CMJ poster, just because we seemed to have very similar tastes in music.

But yea, Joey Crack makes good mixes.

I've gotten some pretty damn good ones but overall 4 of the 5 mixes I've gotten from Rads are absolutely aces; the 3 part Monger Mix series and the "Tom" mix are just plain great.

Now my interest for a Chase mix is piqued.

I'd also nominate any mix that I've done b/c Bloor loves Bloor.

i just went through my cmj/obner mix cds awhile ago. i must have at least a dozen or so.

i wish i had them in front of me, so i can give credit where credit is due. "hello, victim" by shiverhead and "2001: a pop odyssey" by mojo were cool back in the day. radcliffe's "the great pub rock revival" i've listened to a lot in recent months. also, i forgot who made it, but the four-disc electro mix is very, very impressive.

Yeah, it's all been downhill since!

Chase's mix was really well put together, in terms of mixing, track sequence, interludes excetera but the actual songs were a bit hit and miss for me and as I'm sure as anyone who has a Konstantimix knows, I like strong contrasts between the individual tracks (a soul track, next to a drum n bass track, next to a country track) rather than music that sort of blends in together.

Hey, I'm just a child of Peel in that regard.

Send me your address, I'll send you one. Probably won't a KonstantiMix3 though! I'd like to know what was on that. Kinda like looking at old photographs and laughing at your hairstyle.
