Would it make much of a difference, though?

Would this erasure be permanent? Would we remember what the music world was like before?

I'd go with the Beatles or the Sex Pistols since I don't care for them to begin with, and I'd be especially curious to see what music would be like without them.

Bob Seger, I have nothing against the man or his music for the most part, I just don't like to have to listen to it on a regular rotation of classic rock radio at work.
I'd say 50 Cent or Black Eyed Peas for annoying me on commercial radio while at work, but overall it should just be the programmers at Clear Channel who should die.

Wouldn't erase any act from history, but I'd go back to the early 80's and cut down on the airplay of many of them so that I didn't have to hear the songs so much back when radio was my only means of music-finding.

i second this, entusiastically. by eliminating them we would also get rid of some of the worst solo acts in history...

I'll take that action. I found that shit more offensive to the ears than any Eagles song.

I'll also throw in Limp Bizkit or whoever else is responsible for that late 90s/early 00's mook rap rock trend. koRN is responsible too. Let's get rid of them before Durst.

I was going to say KISS but now I'm thinking Eagles. I hate both Nickleback and Creed more but they haven't really had a lasting impact yet. Shoot, there's also Jimmy Buffet...

I think I'll stick with KISS though.

I have to second Darrin's vote for Celine Dion. But, I'll also add Chicago.
