I basically have a regular-length mixtape right here. But because this is more of just me making an extended mix for myself to listen to rather than me making a compilation for somebody else, I'm just going to try and fill up the entire blank cd.

Beeswax: A Nirvana Mix

1. Leadbelly – Where Did You Sleep Last Night?
2. The Velvet Underground – Here She Comes Now
3. Shocking Blue – Love Buzz
4. David Bowie – The Man Who Sold The World
5. Kiss – Do You Love Me
6. The Wipers – D-7
7. The Meat Puppets – Lake of Fire
8. The Vaselines – Son of A Gun
9. The Jesus Lizard – Puss
10. REM – Drive
11. Devo – Turn Around
12. Nirvana – You Know You're Right
13. Hole – Violet
14. The Foo Fighters – This Is A Call
15. Sweet 75 – Fetch
16. The Melvins – Smells Like Teen Spirit
17. Sonic Youth – Nevermind (What Was It Anyway)

Kurt always said that "Smells Like teen Spirit" was just a Pixies ripoff. I think maybe "Debaser" should be on there somewhere.

The song was released about 6 months before Nevermind came out.

Just for my own personal ID purposes. The wife says that it's my theme song.

Definitely something from Doolittle.

"Teen Spirit" sounds a hell of a lot like "UMass", and I'm not even a huge Pixies fan.

Jesus Don't Want Me for a Sunbeam, the Vaselines' version, as it's the only other version I've heard.

You could put "Eighties" by Killing Joke on there.

Definitely, I was just thinking about that song on the weekend after watching Weird Science.

Nevermind came out before Trompe Le Monde.

Fair enough, but I don't give enough of a shit about either band to warrant a chronological history.

I think Frank Black said in some interview I read, that he was returning the favor to Kurt.

Was Frank Black a fan of Nirvana, or...?

AWESOME song...

Might as well just do the "black" album, if you want Nirvana songs, though. They didn't do the worst job of taking 3 albums and a B-Sides thing and putting some songs on a single disc...

Then again, I think they remastered it, so Albini's probably burning some masters as we speak...

Steve Earle's version of "Breed"
Neil Young "My My Hey Hey (Into The Black)" or "Sleeps With Angels"
