...my kids this weekend.

Oh, their poor, poor mom...
They thought it was hillarious.

Only selected scenes that I deemed appropriate for 4-6 year-old eyes:
"Knights of the Round Table" song and dance (both original and Lego versions)

"Brave Sir Robin" being serenaded by his minstrels.

and, the self-abusing monk's chant.

Also special feature:
"How To Properly Use Your Coconuts"

Loved.
It.

Sample comment
(through fits of giggles):

Yeah, guess they are too young for the Black Knight scene.

Or the Sir Galahad scene for that matter

What, no Castle Anthrax scene?

Yes... but they saw the version dubbed in Japanese, with English subtitles.
Just don;t want them repeating any of that "French" to their classmates, at this point. They did think it was funny when he was slapping his helmet and blowing raspberries, thought.

Not the Castle Anthrax scene. Anthrax = Galahad + chixxx

Um... obvious, then.

Nonsense! My kids practically grew up on Python, and have yet to seriously kill or maim anyone. 99% of kids who grow up in a loving family are perfectly capable of dealing with this kind of humor, etc... They somehow instinctively know its make believe, and are not 'damaged' or 'scarred' by seeing this stuff. In my opinion there are worse things for kids to watch every day on Nickolodeon or some of those crap-ass cartoons they play after school.

Obviously, a parent knows their child best, and I'm in no way disagreeing with Todd's decision to censor Python for his family. There are a lot of things that I keep my kids away from, too. On the whole, though, I'd much rather my younger kids watch a Python movie than something like Austin Powers, which is just stupid. But maybe I just value wit over dumb humor.

Plus, they think the black knight scene is hilarious, and I love watching them recreate it in the back yard with play swords... Once when they noticed me watching from the kitchen window my little girl told me to "go away, or we will taunt you a second time!" One of my favorite "dad" moments.

I find this movie funny sometimes, but I'd never choose to watch it of my own free will. Don't really know why.
