been swamped with school lately but jonesing for some shit i havent heard before. any recommendations?
i actually went & got sparta's 'wiretap' & i have to say, it ain't half bad. like it a lot more than i thought i would. [incidentally, thought the mars volta was too proggy for my tastes.]

so, any recommendations? what's burning a hole in yr brain right now?

on another, somewhat more pleasant front, i'm staring down the barrel of my last 2 weeks of school. maybe for now, maybe forever. this old dog's finally getting hisself a b.a.
all i have to do is finish my research paper, take a couple of finals, and that's that. back into the working world.
oh, the joy.

Why don't you check out the mix forum? Some comps up for grabs over there- that'll give you some new stuff to peruse.

Viva Voce - The Heat Can Melt Your Brain

Both will be in my top 10 of 2004, maybe top 5.

Nobody here likes it, but, I thought it was all right too. Porcelain is even better. Won't make my top 20, but, will probably make an honorable mention-if I do "honorable mentions".

So what's so great abou this? A lot of people seem to be liking it, but I haven't seen much discussion about it.

RIYL?

It worked once before, so I'm gonna recommend my own album:
Hop On Pop - As Drawn By Ethan, Age 2

RIYL: The Kinks, Ben Folds, Guided By Voices, Pavement, Belle & Sebastian
(or so I've been told)

Forgive me my self-promoting ways... I just want to be heard!

that riyl's about right, even if i've only had 1 listen so far.

tough to pin down viva voce. it's on the lighter side of any comparison. pleasant-enough. (stars?) i don't know. have had about 4 listens & am still unsure.

autolux is in the mail! :)
