Holy cow, what a score.

I go in to get the Clap Your Hands... (they don't have it, of course), and as I'm leaving, I spy a pyramid on top of the counter by the door. Under it are triangle-shaped boxes. I pick one up, and it's heavy. I look closer, and it's a 4-disc set from the Concord Music Group. 3 CDs and one DVD (CD ROM catalog). Free!

Artists range from Miles Davis, Tony Bennett, Sonny Rollins, Chick Corea, Chet Baker, Thelonious Monk, Sarah Vaughan, CCR, Otis Redding, Big Star, Ozomatli, Robben Ford, Rufus Thomas, etc. 60 fookin' songs!

Wow. I'm stunned. So stunned, I went back & got another one.

Whoa, awesome score indeed.

So, uh.....what are the plans for your second grab? I'm envious since there are no Towers around here anywhere close.

I dunno, yet. Maybe an Xmas present for a lucky sibling. Depends how well they treat me between now and Xmas.

I will, however, burn a couple of copies of the set for those who might be interested.

Not trying to be an ass at all, but what's the real attraction here? The fact that it's free and got....SONGS...on it?

That's cool.

I'll bet if you heard some of it, you might change your mind. It's people like you who should hear it.

Well I mean I'm familiar with enough of the artists on it to know that this isn't the type of thing I'm going to want to put on when I'm sitting around the house or out driving around. The artists on there that I like, I probably already own albums by.

Thanks for the heads-up and everything though, because if this was any other kind of music I'd probably be making a trip there tomorrow.

I don't need love. Perhaps i'll send it to you if I don't send it to my friend in Boston. You'll be first if it doesn't go to her

Ooh. let me be second.

OR... go back and clean them out.

Then you don't have to choose.

I doubt they'll give me more than one. I am excited about this though. If I even get one. For all I know they'll be gone tomorrow. They said they only have a few left.
