Phillies fire GM Ed Wade

Inquirer Staff

After another season of missed playoffs and disgruntled fans, the Phillies have fired Ed Wade as general manager.

It will be announced officially at a 4 p.m. news conference at Citizens Bank Park.

Wade had two years remaining on his contract and it is not known whether he will stay with the organization. He was general manager of the Phillies for eight seasons.
