Back problems. Urban Santana is pretty good though, might be a blessing in disguise. If the Angels win, this just fucks up their rotation for their series vs. the Sox. So, I'm cool with it.

Angels have a seriously depleted staff at this point. Hopefully the series will be interesting. While the starting pitching is better than '02, the offense and bullpen is definitely weaker.

The Angels are better than you think; love it when the east coast media don’t pay attention and talk out of their ass. They (Angels) have some serious depth but baseball is giving the White Sox one game.

2002 was history for the Angels, 2004 for the Red Sox, so who knows were things will go but it’s not a cake walk for the Cardinals like they are saying.

I think K-Rod/Shields is a better duo than Percival/K-Rod. Shields has filthy stuff and a rubber arm. I heard in college he threw 200+ pitches in one game. And adding Escobar to the bullpen is a huge bonus over anyone else they had in 2002.

Their offense may not have had a good year compared to 2002, but if Garrett Anderson and Steve Finley had the kind of years you'd expect from them, they might have been stronger than 2002. I wouldn't count those guys playing up to their abilities the rest of the way.

I really hate Fox's coverage. I couldn't believe it when the cut to commercial right after Cano was called out for running out of the baseline. That seemed like a lousy call, if it wasn't Fox didn't do a very good job in showing how it wasn't. I was pretty dumbfounded when they didn't bother to show a replay of Rodriguez's grounding into a double play in the 9th. I'm not saying he was safe at first, but it looked close and rather than showing a replay they cut to a graphic of Ervin Santana naming him player of the game with the game not even decided. That's just so wrong. I'm surprising not very upset or disappointed that the Yankees didn't win. I am pissed off about the coverage though.

At this point half expect them not to beat the Sox. So many questions about the pitching staff now. If Colon can't go Escobar might have to start a game & that hurts the bullpen. I still think they can do it because the key to the offense is how amazingly well they hit with men on. Time & time again they deliver. Figgins has to come up this time.

But I'm just so happy that for the 2nd time in 4 years they beat the Yankees.

I think Shields/K-Rod were stronger in the first half than the 2nd half. I also think the bullpen peaked at the right time in '02 (getting K-Rod right before the playoffs specifically). Escobar has been huge though.

Finley killed us this year. If GA had a typical season and Finley was half way decent their offense could've been better. Molina has been awesome.

I'm totally rooting for them but I think it will be tough is all.
