Sharing/transferring files using Microsoft NetMeeting? I think it comes standard with most Windows OSs, and it does seem to have file sharing/transferring capabilities. PM me if you want to give it a try. This may be a more viable option than YSI.

I know it's hard to believe that I would ask a Texan this, but 'In English please'.

I don't think I have NetMeeting. It's not with my other Microsoft programs at least...

Yeah, but it's Microsoft!!! ;)
I'll try it out. We've got it installed on our computers in our media rooms... is this standard for XP?

YEah, but it's not a shortcut. Following my prior post should bring it up. I've started a meeting at the colinswood address.

Thanks, I have it too. It kind of looks like MSN Messanger or something.

Initially it did but now I'm confused by it. Does someone have to be part of the directory in order to be contacted?

Me and Colin are both in and can see each other, but haven't yet been able to get chat or file transfer/sharing to activate. We'll keep working on it.

yeah, I'm wondering if I'm having firewall issues and that's why I can't connect. Once I get it up and running, I click on the little phone to dial out, in the "to:" field, I type in "colinswood," and stay with "using automatic." I then get the error "NetMeeting could not find the name of the person you are trying to call on the directory server. Check to make sure the address is correct... etc. etc."

I get that too but we don't have a firewall. I have no idea how to connect through this thing.

Don't type colinswood for the TO: field, type colinswood.no-ip.info
