Who would you consider the break out artists from the past few CMJ Music Marathons? I'm looking at 2004 and 2003 specifically, but any notable break out will do.

Of all the shows I watched this year and last, Low was definitely the best.

Arcade Fire was probably the most notable from '04, no?

If my Hype Analysis/Trend Evaluation Reader is still functional, I'd guess at Wolf Parade for 05. Alas, not the Bon Savs and Bling Kong, even though our show was fun-filled satisfaction.

I'm really looking for a band from each year who came out of the festival with substantially more buzz than what they came in with. Like, nobody had heard of them in August but everyone was talking about them in October.

I would say the KPH-meter is right on the money.
