my brother (who now goes to school in edmonton with me) won a contest on a local radio show to go see nickelback. he's got some friends down here who would like to go with him, but alas, theyre all writing midterms today. so, guess who gets to accompany him? im doing this because he's had some girlfriend troubles and he really wants to go. so, umm, see you tommorow???

LOL it's okay, I have to see 311 on Saturday because they're performing after this car show we're doing. I am going to be miserable.

Oh come on, 311 isn't that bad. Their older albums are quite good, actually.

Well, maybe in 1995 I'd agree with you, and even then, that'd be a stretch. That stuff is pretty dated.

I would love to attend a show like this for free. That'd be some prime entertainment, just for people-watching alone.

wow, I didn't think anyone could top my embarrassing concert attendance with System of a Down, but I think you've managed to do it, Mr. Northern Soul. ;)

Cmon, now, how bad could it be. Nickelback isn't good but they aren't overly loud and obnoxious with punk kids trying to start a pit and/or fight anywhere but in the floor in front of the stage.

There's probably plenty of chicks to scope out and solicit for a private encore if you know what I mean.

No, they've NEVER been good.

Sooo, Northern, I think your brother is gonna be fairly miffed when he learns you're using HIM as an excuse to see Nickelback! ;)

311 is like the movie Friday. If you were in college between say, 1994-1998, that shit was all over the place, and damn near everyone had either Grassroots or Music or both. But before or after that window, and there just isn't much there.

My brother is about to graduate in the winter, and he's never even seen Friday. This boggles my mind. Apparently it was replaced by Office Space.

Yeah, Music was dope as hell and Grassroots was pretty good as well. They were actually a pretty damn good live band back then as well. Now they are....well...kinda sad. But at least they still give it a go.

I hate Nickelback like you guys hate most anything, but I'm sure it won't be the end of the world to see them and hang out with your bro.

I feel for you. I think Nickleback is last on my list of bands/artists I'd want to see.

I saw them at their first show ever (under a different name, The Fish Hippos) and they were damn good, especially for their first show. They opened for Fugazi of all bands. Don't think I've heard any of their albums (except for a few songs that have been played on MTV, etc.).
