under my account, and look at peoples' reactions. It's ridiculously stupid.

"I just heard on NPR that Tom Waits was found dead in Amsterdam. He was buying groceries and was hit by an old man on a motorized wheelchair. The man was speeding. Waits was rushed to the hospital but he could not be saved in time. They did everything they could. He kept singing as the doctors were trying to perform surgery on him. He wouldn't shut up....apparently he kept yelling "I'm Big in Japan" at the top of his lungs. Waits died 30 minutes later."

And look, someone posted it on another forum and apparently everyone got really pissed off. You all know how much I love Tom Waits, but it's obviously a joke. People need to lighten up.

He'd still release albums you, know. Only purists like me could tell the difference between corpse/casket decay/gas releases and his last album.

This is pretty funny.

I also am considering joining the Huey Lewis & the News forums.

Huey's death notice would destroy lives across the globe.

It'd be like the passing of a pope. Or like passing a pope.

It's scary how much we think alike sometimes.

On the flipside, my friend (and complete Clash nutso) Chris called me a few years ago totally freakin out that "contacts" in Great Britain were telling him Joe Strummer had died.

W both checked some Strummer tribute pages and looked at news sites on the web and found nothing and I told him it was BS.

Ten hours after his phone call it was confirmed.
