Agreed.

It's an excellent return to form. This will make my top five for sure this year.

I have never cared for Depeche Mode but have seen them about 10 times. The reason is because they are always my girlfriend’s favorite band. The girls have changed but the band always remains the same.

Last time I saw them Primal Scream was the opening band, so I guess I haven’t seen them for about ten years now. Anyways both bands were on so many drugs that I wondered if they would even survive to the end of that U.S tour, David did try to kill himself shortly afterwards.

OK a bit of that story, the next day KROQ announced that Primal Scream is going to play an off-unannounced gig at the Whisky A Go Go. My friend called me to tell me the news and you just had to show up to get in because they had no pre-sale tickets, only in Los Angeles. Anyways we went and saw Primal Scream at the Whisky A Go Go and it was one of the most insane concerts I have ever seen. Yeap, Primal Scream is just one of those bands that you are just happy that they exist while you exist.

I love a ton of DM songs, but their only album that has held it together for me is Violator...with Songs of Faith and Devotion coming close.

Maybe, I'll give this a chance

they're crazy. there's literally only 3 good songs on the album IMO, and i'm a fan of DM.

huge dissapointment after such a strong single.

Though I've liked DM since high school, it's hard to get excited about them anymore. I'll have to hear the whole thing of course.

"Precious" is really good anyway, even if it sounds like everything post-Nirvana except Gameboy never happened.

The review reads like it was written by the president of their fan club.
Still curious to hear it.

If you graphed the breakdown of AMG's star ratings given out, I bet there's a huge spike at 4.5*. The people who write about a particular band are often fans it seems but perhaps they are discouraged from giving too many full 5*. Thus so many 4.5's?

i'm really into this record... i would say that it has six strong songs on it, and six fine songs on it. nothing on it is actively bad, but the second half lags quite a bit (with the exception of 'Lilian' which reminds me very strongly of the Black Celebration-era stuff.)

i say thumbs up... it kicks the shit out of 'Exciter,' which was so boring i had thought they were definitely done for...

I've never seen a 5-star record younger than 5 years on there (excluding re-releases).

There are a lot of 4-star ones as well. I remember the good old days when no 3.5-star records existed.

Well, it'd be nice if it at least beats out Ashlee Simpson on the top 200, but I doubt it will.
