itunes actually destroyed my last computer completely...tried to prank me with a hotfoot and burned a hole through my processor instead.

Oh man, I really don't need to hear shit like that. Exactly what did it do? How did it affect your burner?

Question:

I'm running itunes 5.0 .

If I install 6.1 will my tunes from 5.0 be automatically inserted into 6.1 or will I have to start all over.

I appreciate knowing, in advance,

Thanks-a-ton,

Bill

i have to try to burn about 8 cds in order to get one to actually burn.

after a little research i found that this is a common problem with people who used itunes.

i can't remember all the details. and there is a fix. but...i haven't bothered trying to figure it all out. i just haven't used my burner for about a year. grrrr.

anyway...i think i bookmarked the link i found about it at home....if anyone is interested, i can post it when i get home.

im not sure you'll notice a difference, all my music was still there....

what bothers me is that the music store is telling me not only what i've bought from them (not a big deal) but what i already own....

Jen, have you tried other burning programs like this one? If it doesn't work right away, you can try putting this file in the burn directory...

I don't see anything different betwixt Itunes 5 and 6, but then I've got a plain ol' black-n-white Ipod, so videos and crap like that mean nothing to me. Nothing!

Maybe I'm missing something here . . . why? Amazon does the same thing. (My wife is perpetually annoyed that Amazon recommends CDs for her based on CDs she bought as gifts for me, 90% of which she'd never even be remotely curious about, if she'd even heard of the bands, that is.)

In your example, Mot, those records were still bought from the store. I think scotty's worried that iTunes is storing the contents of his entire music library somewhere regardless of whether files in his library were bought on iTunes or not.
