I figured that out, largely, after I posted the topic. I investigated the member page, and linked to his band's site.

But I thought that he might be an alternate Spoon log-in cum pun on the name of former Baylor basketball coach Dave Bliss.

But working in radio, I am sure you keep abreast of the wire... And that Bliss/Baylor trouble was big news summer '03 ('til Kobe's rape charge bumped it).
