PM me the answers, and keep in mind that I'm at work, so my response time may not be super quick. The three people with the greatest number of correct answers will be sent a copy of my latest mix CD.

1. Chrissie Hynde was a first-hand eyewitness to the tragic events depicted in which song?

2. The lead singer of which band was once married to actress Faye Dunaway?

3. Who went on to even greater fame in the '80s with another all-female band after leaving The Runaways before their debut album was recorded and released?

4. Which brothers permanently switched instruments before forming their eponymous band?

5. What was the real-life identity of "The Brown Dirt Cowboy" referenced in the title of Elton John's 1975 album?

6. What was the name of the one-hit-wonder band featuring a former winner of the Miss Black Minnesota beauty pageant on vocals and a self-described "nice Jewish boy" handling production, songwriting and most of the instrumentation?

7. What was the name of that one hit by the answer to question 6?

8. Which one-time backup singer for Neil Young had a Top 10 hit with one Neil's own previously lesser-known songs?

9. The Tommy James protege who wrote the 1970 smash hit "Tighter, Tighter" later went on to marry which legendary disco diva?

10. A member of which husband-wife act was once sentenced to jail time for punching Elvis Costello?

11. What caused the answer to question 10 to assault the former Declan McManus?

12. Which member of a classic comedy team was once in a Motown band?

13. The Champs, best known for the song "Tequila" (which you probably remember from Pee-Wee Herman's infamous on-screen table dance), later spawned which '70s pop duo?

14. A member of the the answer to question 13 had a brother in another '70s pop duo, who then later went on to become a successful solo country singer. Name THAT '70s pop duo.

15. Which comic actor had previously played drums for a band that eventually became Steely Dan?

16. What was the name of the band at the time the answer to question 15 was still the drummer?

17. Which band featured future members of Talking Heads and The Cars?

18. Which ultra-conservative figure began his career in a band whose biggest hit was one of the first openly pro-drug anthems?

19. What is the name of the band of which the answer to question number 18 was a member?

20. What is the name of the anthem referenced in question number 18?

BONUS: Which member of the band who performed the answer to question 1 had previously failed an audition for The Monkees?

I tried to somewhat Google-proof these questions, so consider this an open book quiz.
