Rejoicing is the only one I've heard and while it's OK and has some good songs on it I'm not sure if I'd actually recommend it.

I much prefer his earlier material (how indie of me).

while we're at it, here's the "overdrive" section of my to-get albums:

chapterhouse - whirlpool
lush - spooky
pale saints - in ribbons
slowdive - souvlaki
swervedriver - mescal head

feel free to comment.

I'd go with either Sung Tongs or A Ghost Is Born. Mind you, I don't know
Ride's Nowhere.

Ride "Nowhere" is essential IMO. Buy it asap, sit back, and let that shit massage you like an 18 year old asian girl.

I'd suggest Sung Tongs, but apparently I have to pay more attention to Ride.

Not necessarliy. I enjoy Nowhere and Smile, but for me they're not even close to being "essential".

Sung Tongs is the way to go. Either that or Souvlaki.

whaaa? disagree. Ride's "Nowhere" is definitely an essential shoegaze release, and one of the best ever in that genre.

Leave the pubes alone (public fruit) and go with Doppelganger.

Be careful. I'm probably the biggest Eminem fan on this board, but I really don't get much replay value out of this one at all. There's just way too many "silly" songs.

As for the original poster, get Animal Collective's Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished/Danse Manatee combo. Trust me, it's worth the extra couple bucks.
